1883

Inventer & Entreprendre

Starting out as a liqueur maker in Chambéry at the end of the 19th century was a bold choice. Philibert Routin, a genius herbalist, meticulously transcribed in a notebook — still carefully kept in the safe to this day — the secret recipes of his creations.

In his laboratory, he crafted elixirs with subtle aromatic blends. He quickly established his name as a benchmark. His very first creation, the Élixir Chambérien, deliciously combined 43 ingredients! But it was his celebrated Vermouth that made his name.

1938

Perdurer & Transmettre

After the wave of modernity brought by Léon, Philibert's son, in the 1920s, a new family, the Clochet family, came to carry on the passion in 1938.

When the men went off to war, there was no question of giving up. Production continued thanks to the determination of the women, the elders and the young. The post-war years brought new beginnings. The region changed and the white gold drew crowds of tourists who left with their Génépi, bought at the small mountain shop.

1960

Évoluer & S'aventurer

From the 1960s onwards, the Distillery took on a new momentum, ventured into mass distribution, continued to innovate with flair, and even made its way to the United States.

It thus consolidates its position as a benchmark in the market and its expertise in the selection of botanicals and aromatic blending. A journey of commitment carried by a family with complementary talents, propelled forward by this unwavering desire to continue the adventure.

2000

Reinventing ourselves

After such a long journey, it is time to take stock. To assess our position and prepare for the future with confidence. To reinvent ourselves, while preserving our heritage of traditional craftsmanship, seasoned with modernity.

A new name was born: Distillerie des Alpes. But the soul remained unchanged. In 2014, the liqueurs were brought up to date. A new range was created, paying tribute to our founder: Philibert.

Since 2024, entrepreneurs from the world of spirits have continued to write the history of the Distillerie des Alpes by blending the exacting standards of our Savoyard roots with the expectations of a new generation of exceptional spirits enthusiasts.
