Some recipes are not told — they are lived. La Raphaëlle is the most eloquent example: invented in 1865 by Brother Raphaël, Hyppolite Bonal, this exceptional herbal liqueur brings together more than seventy plants, seeds, flowers, spices and barks, distilled in our copper still and aged in oak vats before bottling.
At Distillerie des Alpes, we preserve these rare recipes with the same rigour as on day one. Each blend is mastered by our Master Distiller, the guarantee of impeccable quality and an ever-renewed aromatic complexity.
These exceptional spirits are not simply drunk, they are savoured — slowly, attentively, to reveal their full depth.
La Raphaëlle was born in 1865. More than seventy botanicals — plants, seeds, flowers, spices, barks — make up this exceptional liqueur, whose original recipe is preserved and carried on with absolute fidelity.
Aged in oak vats.
After distillation in our copper still, La Raphaëlle ages in oak vats before bottling. This ageing gives it its copper colour with green highlights and an exceptionally long finish.
The signature of the Master Distiller.
Every aroma, every note — lemon balm, hyssop, fresh ginger, citrus peel, gentian — is known and mastered by our Master Distiller. An artisanal standard that makes each bottle a unique work.
